The core of the Reiseanalyse commissioned by the Forschungsgemeinschaft Urlaub und Reisen e. V. (FUR) and carried out by the NIT continues to be the large representative face-to-face survey with a random sample, supplemented by several waves of representative online interviews over the course of the year. At least 12,000 interviews will be conducted for the standard surveys of the RA 2026, 7,000 of them face-to-face in January 2026 and 2,500 in each of the two waves of the RA online in May and November 2025.
As usual, the RA 2026 will also be supplemented by three modules. This time, the focus is on “Destination experience”, “Accessibility on vacation trips – target groups and requirements” and “Tourist attitudes and travel behavior of the Sinus-Millieus®”. There is also the module special “Update: Travel plans 2025/2026”, for which an additional 2,000 online interviews were conducted in September 2025.
