For both tourism providers and visitors, the coordinated guidance of visitor flows has advantages – and is an essential factor in reconciling tourism and nature conservation. Tourismus NRW has therefore commissioned the NIT to examine what possibilities there might be for new types of environmentally sensitive guidance systems in the Eifel National Park region and the twelve nature parks in the state. By the end of May 2021, the aim was to investigate how crowded parking lots, traffic jams and a rush of visitors that is harmful to nature could be avoided through digital solutions. Now the finished expert report has been published.
